RT2 - The Second Century v1.52 Fixed Executable [587 KB]

• Create the following temporary directories:
  • TempDir#1 :  C:\TEMP\CD
  • TempDir#2 :  C:\TEMP\AUDIO
  • TempDir#3 :  C:\TEMP\ICOMP
• Copy the full contents of the original CD to TempDir#1.
• Extract all Audio/CDDA tracks to TempDir#2.
• Copy the <TempDir#1>\_SETUP\_setup.1 file to TempDir#3.
• Download the official Railroad Tycoon II v1.52 Update.
• Extract the rt2_tsc.exe executable from the Update to TempDir#3.
• Download ICOMP.ZIP.
• Extract the ICOMP.EXE executable from the Archive to TempDir#3.
• Open a MS-DOS Prompt , CD to TempDir#3 and execute:
  • ICOMP rt2_tsc.exe _setup.1 Group1 -i
• Copy the modified _setup.1 file back to the <TempDir#1>\_SETUP\ directory, replacing the existing file.
• Create a Mixed-Mode CD-Image and burn the contents of TempDir#1 (Data track) & TempDir#2 (Audio Tracks) to a  80 minutes CD-R using the same CD-Label as the original.
• Play the Game!

If you are experiencing problems unpacking the .ACE files make sure to use the latest WinACE 2.xx as previous versions, WinRAR & WinZIP fail to work!!!

If you have problems downloading files then use a download manager
like Go!Zilla! (Free!), Download Accelerator or GetRight to avoid download problems and to resume failed downloads!

It can happen that some of the downloads have a .TGZ extension instead of the usual .ACE  -  Just rename the file back to .ACE and it works fine again!
